Rising Australian R&B star, Emalia, admits that she can't actually remember a time when music wasn't an integral part of her life. "My parents say I could sing before I could talk," she laughs. "I loved dancing around the living room and making up little tunes and jingles. I always knew what I wanted to do; I was very lucky in that way."
The self taught pianist and guitarist sees herself inspired by the likes of R&B queens such as Kehlani and Summer Walker: two stellar examples of fierce singer-songwriters who are currently owning the scene.
She's been fine tuning her current project for the past three years with Platinum-selling producer One Above (Hilltop Hoods) in the executive production role, LA-based production duo AFTRHRS (Sabrina Claudio, Graace), rising UK producer Jon Hoskins (Khalid, Partynextdoor) and the critically acclaimed Shungudzo.
