ONE ABOVE

It’s okay to be slightly in awe of One Above, aka Andrew Burford. With his eclectic mixture of minimal pop, forward thinking R&B and modern hip-hop gaining international notoriety, this Sydney based artist is swiftly becoming one of Australia’s finest songwriters/producers.

Undoubtedly this country’s biggest hip-hop stars, the Hilltop Hoods, have enlisted the former Adelaide native across four #1 selling albums including writing, production and engineering credits on ‘Walking Under Stars, Drinking from the Sun Restrung’ with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Most recently Andrew crafted Hoods’ smash hit singles ‘Exit Sign ft. Illy & Ecca Vandal’ (2x Platinum), ‘1955 ft. Montaigne and Tom Thum’ (7x Platinum & ARIA Nominated for Song of the Year 2016), ‘Higher ft. James Chatburn’ (2x Platinum) and scored an ARIA win with Drapht’s 2016 album 'Seven Mirrors'. Prior to this, Andrew’s production on Hilltop Hoods ‘I Love It ft. Sia’ became one of the highest selling Australian Hip-Hop singles of all time with 4x Platinum accreditation and an ARIA Song of the Year nomination.

Further proof of his musical gift is the ongoing list of production and songwriting accomplishments to date, including an impressive 8 overall placements in triple j’s ‘Hottest 100’ (Australia‘s largest annual music listener poll). His creative diversity is self evident with credits across ARIA chart topper Allday’s hit song 'Always Know the DJ', multiple Hottest 100 singles for avant-garde rapper Chance Waters, plus Illy’s 2013 ARIA award winning album ‘Bring It Back’ also receiving a Hottest 100 nod for the Gold selling single 'Heard It All'.

Currently signed with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), his already broad array of potential production endeavours has widened even further. With recent collaborations including Kota Banks, KLP, Bliss n Eso and Pete Murray, One Above’s unique ability to cross musical genres continues to put him in high demand, both here and internationally. A true master of his art, Andrew promises to continue delivering captivating music for listeners across the globe.
