Ruel’s 2018 debut READY introduced the world to the then 15-year-old’s songwriting talent and swiftly captivated a devoted fanbase.
Beginning to play guitar at the age of 8, Ruel quickly started to write songs, inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Dave Brubeck, Frank Ocean and James Blake – not your average list of influences for a kid hailing from beachside Sydney.
Fast-forward to present day and in just under 18-months, the musical prodigy has become the youngest male to sell out the iconic Sydney Opera House (twice!), received co-signs from the likes of Shawn Mendes, Khalid, SG Lewis, Zane Lowe, Elton John and go-to collaborator M-Phazes, and has sold out headlining shows across the world.
Ruel became the youngest recipient of an ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year while amassing more than 300 million combined global streams across a string of memorable singles including ‘Don’t Tell Me’, ‘Younger’, ‘Not Thinkin’ Bout You’, ‘Dazed and Confused’, and ‘Painkiller’.
Not showing any signs of slowing down, Ruel released his FREE TIME EP including the tracks ‘Face to Face’ and ‘Real Thing’, completed his biggest world tour yet.
